2.1 Information You Provide: We do not require registration, accounts, or personal information to use our calculators. If you contact us via email, we collect only the information you voluntarily provide (email address, message content).

2.2 Calculator Data: All calculations are performed client-side using JavaScript in your browser. No calculation inputs, results, or personal data entered into any calculator are transmitted to our servers. The Password Generator uses the Web Crypto API entirely in your browser. No generated passwords are ever stored or transmitted.

2.3 Automatically Collected Information: When you visit our site, certain information is automatically collected through third-party services (described in Section 4), including: approximate geographic location (country/region level), device type and browser information, pages visited and time spent, referring website URL, and IP address (processed by Cloudflare for security). This information is anonymized and cannot identify individual users.

3. Cookies

3.1 First-Party Cookies/Storage: We use localStorage (similar to cookies) to store your theme preference (dark/light mode). This is a functional preference containing no personal data. No other first-party cookies are set.

4.1 Google AdSense (Privacy Policy): Displays advertisements on our Service. Google may use cookies and web beacons to collect data for serving targeted ads. Google AdSense uses the DoubleClick cookie to enable interest-based advertising. Publisher ID: ca-pub-1148334272793168.

4.2 Google Analytics (GA4) (Privacy Policy): Collects anonymized usage data including pages visited, session duration, device type, browser, approximate location, and traffic source. GA4 does not collect personally identifiable information. Measurement ID: G-SFR42MDXKJ.

4.3 Cloudflare (Privacy Policy): Our website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes HTTP requests through their CDN network, which may involve processing IP addresses and request headers for security, performance, and caching purposes.

4.4 Google Translate API: Our optional language selector uses the Google Translate API. When you select a non-English language, page text is sent to Google for translation. No personal data is transmitted in this process.

4.5 Stripe (Privacy Policy): If you purchase the AEO Authority Bundle, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment card details. All payment data is processed directly by Stripe under their security standards (PCI DSS Level 1).

The limited information collected through third-party services is used exclusively to:

6. Data Retention

We do not store personal data on our servers. Third-party data retention periods are governed by each service's policies: Google Analytics retains data for 14 months by default. Google AdSense cookie data varies by cookie type (some expire after sessions, others persist for up to 2 years). Cloudflare log data is retained according to their data retention policy. Your localStorage theme preference persists until you clear your browser data.

7. Your Rights

7.1 All Users: You have the right to: opt out of personalized advertising via Google Ads Settings, opt out of Google Analytics tracking via the browser add-on, clear cookies and localStorage through your browser settings, and contact us with any privacy questions at contact@smartercalculator.net.

7.2 European Economic Area (GDPR): If you are in the EEA, you have additional rights including: right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object. Since we do not collect personal data directly, most of these rights apply to the third-party services listed above. 8. Children's Privacy

Our Service is designed to be educational and suitable for users of all ages, including students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (COPPA) or under 16 (GDPR). Our calculators are educational tools that process data entirely in the browser. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

9. Data Security

We protect our Service using: HTTPS/TLS encryption for all connections, Cloudflare's security infrastructure (DDoS protection, WAF), client-side calculation processing (no sensitive data transmitted), and regular security reviews. Since calculator data never leaves your browser, the risk of data breach related to your calculations is effectively zero.

10. International Data Transfers

Our Service is hosted on Cloudflare's global CDN, which may process requests in multiple countries. Google Analytics and AdSense data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. These transfers are protected by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (for Google services) and Cloudflare's compliance certifications.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
